How Vibrant Niche Works with Insurance and Payments

At Vibrant Niche Chiropractic we strive to provide you with the best care possible. That means, our treatments are catered to your body’s needs and those treatments need to address various aspects. That being said, you still need to understand how to pay for it.

Payments

Here’s the short answer: We take payment upfront.

We are out-of-network for all insurance providers. However, we offer superbills after services and payments have been rendered.

The most common form of payment at Vibrant Niche is through credit card with which you can pay in-person or simply upload a credit card in your online patient portal. Then everything is automated.

Insurance

We are out-of-network for all insurance providers. But that doesn’t mean we don’t try to help you with your insurance claims.

Insurance companies in the US are not all the same. That means, each insurance company designs their own coverage plans. In addition, each insurance company offers many different plans to choose from. Some plans are designed specifically for large companies and their benefit plans are only offered through the workplace. Other plans can be chosen by individuals or are offered through small businesses. In short, there are hundreds of different insurance plans with different coverages.

Due to the complexity of our care plans and the plethora of insurances coverages out there, we would have to hire additional staff to offer in-house insurance payment options. Therefore, we are out-of-network with all insurance providers.

So, we take payment upfront and offer superbills after your session and the payment has been rendered.

Superbills

After you appointment and payment has been rendered you will be able to receive a receipt called a superbill. This receipt includes your payment information, your medical procedure and diagnosis codes, and a signature by your provider here at Vibrant Niche. Superbills will either be emailed to you or, in the future, can be made available to view and download in your Vibrant Niche on-patient portal. Superbills can be submitted to your insurance provider for payment reimbursement for both your chiropractic and massage visits.

PPO Versus HMO

There are two large categories of insurance plans. HMOs tend to have lower copayments, but also smaller networks and DO NOT cover out-of-network providers such as Vibrant Niche. The most well-known HMO in California is Kaiser Permanente. In comparison, PPO plans provide out-of-network coverage. They can be State-specific or nationwide plans and they usually do not require a referral to see a specialist.

At Vibrant Niche, our patients with PPO plans often report back 50-70% reimbursement after submitting superbills to their insurance.

In our experience, Aetna, UnitedHealth, Cigna and similar reimburse at a higher rate. Remember that you will not see any reimbursement until your deductible is met.

FSA/HSA

Another great way to take advantage of the money in your health insurance plans is to utilize your flexible spending account (FSA) and your health savings account (HSA). FSA and HSA accounts allow you to use tax-free money for chiropractic care, massages, Pilates, gym memberships, and more. Most Vibrant Niche patients fully take advantage of their FSA/HSA accounts for their self-care needs.

Taking advantage of insurance offerings can be overwhelming, but also quite rewarding. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us or talk to your insurance provider directly about how you can fully utilize your insurance benefits.
